Business Skills Entry (investment visas)

State/Territory Sponsored Business Owner (163 –
Offshore Provisional) - This visa is for people who have
a successful business career, and have a genuine and realistic
commitment to be involved as an owner in a new or existing
business in Australia. This visa is also the first step
towards being granted a permanent Business Skills visa.

State/Territory Sponsored Business Owner (892 –
Onshore Permanent) - This visa allows you to stay in Australia
on a permanent basis for the purpose of owning a new or
existing business. Applicants must be sponsored by a state/territory
authority. This visa can be a second stage visa for subclass
163 visa holders to apply onshore.

Business Talent (132 – Offshore Permanent) -
This visa is a permanent resident visa designed for high
calibre business people who are owners or part owners
of an overseas business and have a genuine and realistic
commitment to participate in the management of a new or
existing business in Australia.

Temporary Business (subclass 457 visa)

This is the most commonly used program for employers
to sponsor overseas workers to work in Australia on a
temporary basis includes sponsorship, nomination and visa
application

Pathway to permanent residency through various visa
options
Employer Sponsored Migration
-
have worked full-time in Australia in the nominated
occupation on a Subclass 457 temporary residence visa
etc. for the last two years prior to the visa application
being made (including at least the last 12 months with
the nominating employer), or
-
have been nominated to fill a highly paid senior executive
position with a salary of more than $165,000 per annum,
or
-
have had their skills assessed as suitable by the relevant
skills assessing authority and, unless exceptional circumstances
apply, have at least three years full-time work experience
in the occupation immediately before the visa application
is lodge

be under 45 years of age

have Vocational English language ability (an IELTS
score of at least 5 on each of the 4 components of the
test)

under some circumstances, visa applicants may seek
exemption from skill, language or age eligibility requirements

employers in regional Australia may be able to sponsor

Australia under the Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme
Student Visa

Subclass570 - English Language Intensive Courses for
Overseas Students (ELICOS)
Applies to stand-alone English language courses that lead
to a certificate I, II, III or IV, or that result in no
formal Australian award.

Subclass 571 - Primary or secondary school course -
Applies to primary, junior secondary or senior secondary
school courses, and approved secondary school exchange
programs.

Subclass 572 - Vocational education and training -
Applies to Certificates I, II, III or IV (except ELICOS),
diploma, advanced diploma, vocational graduate certificate
or vocational graduate diploma courses.

Subclass 573 - Higher education - Applies to a Bachelor
degree, associate degree, graduate certificate, graduate
diploma, or Masters by coursework.

Subclass 574 - Postgraduate research -Applies to Masters
by research or a doctoral degree.

Subclass 580 - Student Guardians - You must be a parent,
person who has legal custody, or a relative of the student
for whom you will be guardian, and meet specific financial
requirements in order to be eligible for this visa.
